REFUNDS/CREDIT

WHAT IS THE STATUS OF THE 2020 ROCK TAHOE HALF MARATHON?


Due to the continued restrictions, the 2020 Rock Tahoe Half Marathon will be a virtual race only.




CAN I HAVE A REFUND?


Registration fees are non-refundable. We work on organizing the race for a full year and many of our expenses are all paid for well in advance of the race such as medals, shirts, marketing, etc. We hope you will participate in the virtual event since we have a medal, shirt and bib waiting for you!




WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?


Our 2020 Race Waiver outlines our refund policy and is agreed to at the time of registration. A PDF copy can be viewed here.




I PURCHASED MAIL MY BIB, WILL THAT BE REFUNDED?


Yes, if you purchased Mail My Bib for 2020, you will be receiving a refund of $25. Those refunds have started processing, and you should see them appear on your card within 7-10 business days.




WHAT IF I PURCHASED RACE INSURANCE?


For coverage details regarding the coronavirus, see FanShield's FAQs here. The race insurance program is administered by a third party, FanShield. This program is responsible for handling all customer inquiries and claim requests as well as processing any approved refunds and sending these to the customer. For any questions related to the insurance policy or coverage, please contact FanShield's customer service online via chat or email. To submit an insurance claim, start online here.




CAN I DEFER MY ENTRY TO 2021?


We are rolling over a registration credit of up to 70% for each participant for Rock Tahoe 2021.

  • Registered participants will receive a separate email with a unique code to register for only $37 for the Rock Tahoe Half Marathon on Saturday, June 19, 2021.
  • Due to many expenses that were already paid toward putting on the event this year, we are not able to offer a 100% deferral credit.
  • The code will be unique to each participant and valid for one registration during our early bird registration period between now and July 1, 2020.
  • This discounted registration fee is refundable*, no questions asked, up until December 31, 2020. Past that date, our standard refund policy will apply.
*Please note: Race insurance and original processing fees will not be reimbursed. These fees are paid directly to 3rd party companies and as such, we have no control over those refunds.




WHY ARE YOU NOT POSTPONING TO A LATER DATE?


There is too much uncertainty surrounding when/if mass gathering type events will be allowed again this year.




WHAT IF I DON’T WANT TO COMMIT TO 2021 NOW, CAN I REGISTER LATER?


The discounted rate is only available until July 1st. This discounted rate is refundable through the end of 2020. You are welcome to register at a later date, but the discounted rate is only available for a limited time.




I’M A LEGACY RUNNER, DO I KEEP MY STATUS FOR NEXT YEAR?


Heck yeah!! That’s one of the reasons we’re still Rockin’ Tahoe virtually!





VIRTUAL RACE

HOW DOES THE VIRTUAL RACE WORK?


Racers will complete a 13.1 mile run/walk, track it on an app, and upload the results to our official results page. Racers will have between Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, June 21, 2020 to complete the virtual race. Your race goodies will be shipped directly to you once your results have been uploaded. Please allow 2 weeks for processing and shipping.




DO I NEED TO COMPLETE THE VIRTUAL RACE TO RECEIVE MY MEDAL AND SHIRT?


Yes. You must complete a 13.1 mile run/walk and upload your virtual results to receive your medal and shirt.




WHAT IF I DON’T WANT TO DO THE VIRTUAL RUN?


Totally up to you! You have been training and running is fun, and we all know we could use a little more fun right now.




I WASN’T REGISTERED BUT WANT TO DO THE VIRTUAL RUN NOW, CAN I SIGN UP?


Yes! You can register online for the virtual event here. Thank you for your support!




WHAT DO I RECEIVE FOR COMPLETING THE VIRTUAL RUN?


All virtual race finishers will receive the amazing 2020 Rock Tahoe Medal, Finisher Shirt, and Commemorative Bib. Items will all be shipped at no additional cost to you. Please allow 2 weeks for processing and shipping.




CAN I EXCHANGE MY SHIRT IF IT DOESN’T FIT?


We will not be able to offer shirt exchange this year. Shirts will be sent based on size and style selected during registration. If you need to update your size, please email us prior to completing your virtual run.




HOW DO I TRACK MY VIRTUAL RUN?


Any tracking app will work such as Strava, MapMyRun, RunKeeper, or your smart watch.




CAN I COMPLETE MY RUN ON A TREADMILL?


Yes of course! Just make sure you track your run to submit the results!




I MOVED, HOW DO I UPDATE MY SHIPPING ADDRESS?


Please update your information here.




HOW DO I UPLOAD MY RESULTS?


1) Click on the RESULTS page. 2) Click "SUBMIT VIRTUAL RESULT" at the top. 3) Follow the step-by-step instructions to complete.

**Results can be posted between Saturday May 23 -- Sunday, June 21, 2020**

We have removed the time limit -- you do whatever it takes for you to hit that 13.1!

WILL THERE BE PRIZES OR AWARDS?


There will not be official prizes for age group categories this year.
However, we still have some amazing prizes that we are giving away from Nuun, Honey Stinger, Reno Running Company, Bani Bands, and Rock Tahoe gear! 1) We will draw winners at random from the finisher list throughout the month of the race for some awesome prizes! 2) Have fun and share your run, your post-race pool party, warm-ups, cool-downs, finish line celebrations, and more from your virtual run experience! I'M STILL COMING TO TAHOE -- CAN I PICK UP MY RACE SWAG?


At this time we are not planning to host an in-person race swag pickup. Remember it's just the two of us manning this operation and we're without our hundreds of volunteers this year. We will ship you your items as fast as we can, but please allow up to 2 weeks for processing/shipping.





ATHLETES UNITED

IF I DONATE MY ENTRY, WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?


Donated entry fees go to Athletes United to support healthy youth activities in the South Lake Tahoe community. Athletes United organizes our awesome volunteers and is responsible for putting those amazing Aid Stations together each year. These kids need our support now more than ever and we are committed to our partnership with Athletes United. You can learn more about Athletes United here: athletesunited.org.




IS MY DONATION TO ATHLETES UNITED TAX DEDUCTIBLE?


Yes, Athletes United is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Go to your participant dashboard – if you do not see your Rock Tahoe Half Marathon Registration please scroll down to the claim section of your dashboard and click “CLAIM” next to Rock Tahoe Half Marathon 2. Click "View Dashboard" on the 2020 Rock Tahoe Half Marathon icon 3. Click on the "Edit Registration" button on the far right of the page 4. Indicate your answer from the drop down menu under “Alternative registration options" 5. Click "SAVE" to submit your selection
